Day 58.

Tonight was attempt #2 to be cultural. I had tickets to Othello and I was SO excited. We went to our favorite Indian restaurant before and headed to the subway. I had calculated it so that we had EXACTLY enough time to make it to the performance. Well... the subway decided to stop running. Seriously. There was an announcement in German and then everyone started leaving. We had two options

1) Miss the Performance
2) Run there

We Ran.

The five of us (Me, Kayla, Ambree, Whitney, and Mika) were running through the historical streets of Vienna wearing our BYU study abroad backpacks and flip flops. We were all miserable. We looked ridiculous.

Then we made it. On time. HUZZAH.

Othello was AMAZING. We saw a British touring company that was only in town for one night. We saw the performance on an open air stage behind the Lichtenstein Museum. I have never seen Shakespeare done better. Every actor was so committed. Othello has become my new favorite tragedy.

Here are some from an impromptu photo shoot that we did during intermission.

The outdoor stage.

The cast.

Krystle
