Rexburg Weekends.

Last weekend I got to go to Rexburg. WHICH MEANS... that I got to see my lover. It was awesome. When we get together we tend to watch 3 consecutive movies in a row, eat delicious meals, and spend time at the home depot. Yeah we are that cool.

We also went to the Taco Bus, which sounds scary, but is actually amazing.

Yep. Our relationship in a nut shell.

He is single if you were wondering ladies.

Inside the busssssssssssss.

And we are super photogenic in case you didn't notice.

WEEKEND

It is here and I am so excited.
I have no HW due until Tuesday. Other than reading. Which should be done. Buttttttttttttttttt... might not get done if you know what I am saying.
Tomorrow I make the drive to see the lover.
4 Hours in the car. Alone.
It may sound like a death sentence but I tend to like it. I think of it a little like therapy. It is just me, my music, and the open road. PLUS the person I love is on the other end. So that makes it okay too.
Only 5 hours of work separating me from my weekend.
BRING IT ON.

Here is the thing.

I have been neglecting you guys for my other blog. THAT is just not okay. I told you I would introduce lover... well ladies. Here he is. I would post a giant picture but he has this tendency to be kind of a private person. We'll work on that.

This beauty was taken at Pike's Place market in Seattle by a friendly tourist.

Our road trip was fun. It consisted of:

28 hours of concentrated driving time
together of course so we survived :)

2 giant bags of starbursts
Tropical AND regular

1 bag of Riesens

Too many breakfast sandwiches from Jack in Box
They serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Brilliant.

3 Bananas we bought to be healthy that we didn't actually eat

1 Book on tape
We "read" Outliers by Malcom Gladwell... READ THIS BOOK.

and lastly
the best

1 back scratcher.
We would take turns while the other was driving.

I got to see my family, go to Seattle, and spend a bunch of time with my sweetie. I would have to say that it was an epic success. Thank you Presidents of America for having a Holiday that allows me to skip school.

New post. New day.

I wake up in the morning... {feeling like P. Diddy. Not what I am really going to say, but hey... your brain already went there didn't it. And so what if Ke$ha is a guilty pleasure} and I am overwhelmed by my closet. I lived in quite possibly the tiniest apartment ever and therefore I have the tiniest closet my eyes have ever seen. Oh how I long for the days when I lived with my parents. A room to myself and a giant closet! If I could only go back. Anyway, I digress.

Today I wore... the jeans I wore Saturday. The Sweater I wore yesterday. The boots I wear pretty much everyday. Summary of thoughts. I have tons of clothes. I wear hardly any. AND planning outfits takes effort.

Tomorrow I'll try harder to look like a real person but today I can't wait for my pajamas.

ROAD TRIP.

That is right ladies. (and gentlemen?)

I finished my exams, which means that the lover and I are on the road.

I will introduce him tomorrow.

8 more hours in the car and I will be home.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

See below.

Notice that I wrote... My brain in melting instead of My brain IS melting.

I could change it, but I am keeping it. For what you ask?

Evidence.

My brain in melting.

Literally. I am not sure how much more information it can absorb in this small 18 hour window I have left to prepare for this monster research methods class exam. Isn't the book pretty?

Too bad the material isn't. I took my Finance exam today and I have no idea how I faired. What kind of teacher has the audacity to make you wait for your scores until Friday after the exam closes? Madness I tell you. Madness. If I can only make it to tomorrow night. I am two papers and one exam away. It seems so very far away. Tomorrow I will be on the open road racing toward my beautiful home in Washington. Huzzah.

Sorry this post is kind of... well disjointed. Once I am coherent again I'll write something lovely. Until then bring on the sugar. I am just procrastinating now, but come on! There is only so much my brain can take! Why did I do that photo shoot on Saturday... oh cause it was fun. Grades have to suffer sometimes right?

Freedom.

Can you say President's Day weekend? Heck yes. That's right. I said heck. We have Monday off so my lover and I are road tripping home to Seattle. Have I told you that already? I might have. ANYWAYS. I have more on my plate then I can even handle right now. I am going to make my do to list below. It is partly so you can understand why my blog is going to suffer and so I can have one constant place for it to stay.

Ok here it goes:
Comms 317 Exam [Covers 10 chapters of reading. I haven't read 8 of them yet. Awesome]
Finance 201 Exam
Streetcar Named Desire Paper
Babe the Sheep Pig Paper [I can't believe this is a real paper either]
Media Literary Theory reading
Comms 351 exam review
Theory Paper

Oh my goodness. For the next 72 hours I have no life. Well... except for the 2 hour break I am going to take tonight when I go see a Finnish circus.

Here goes nothing.

To be loved.

Love and be loved.
Sometimes I am a poet.
Or like to read them.
Poems I mean.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

-Shakespeare

Let them eat cake. And cupcakes. And cookies.

Happy valentine's day my lovelies. Eat some sweets today and remember the people that you love. Here are some treats to get you in the mood for the holiday. Enjoy!

Sundays/Sweaters are my favorite.

Utah decided to grace us with some beautiful weather this weekend. 40 degrees? Yes please. I was in heaven. Sweater weather is my favorite type.

I wore my fancy new shoes today but I have no desire to post pictures this evening. After studying for my finance exam my brain is tired. Look at the pictures from yesterday. Those are cute. They will have to suffice for this evening :)

Look forward to this weekend when I get to go back to Seattle with my lover for the weekend! Thank you America for celebrating President's day and giving me a Monday off of school. Huzzah.

Wedding lovelies.

I have been looking at some of the most lovely things as of late. I want to share them.

PLUS. You would not believe the amazing photographers that I have stumbled upon, but that blog post is for another time.

And can I just say how excited I am for the BHLDN.com site to launch this Monday? Nothing like celebrating Valentine's Day with a bunch of beautiful creative things.

Love the Theater

New Play Project is a neat little local non-profit theater company that puts on new scripts by up and coming playwrights. I went and attended the production of He and She Fighting: A Love Story.

It is written by one of my favorite professors {which makes me completely unbiased I am sure}. I really enjoyed the content and flow of the script. The professional description goes like this:

"Boy meets girl. Boy dates girl. Boy argues endlessly with girl. A painfully funny (and sometimes just painful) look at one couple's relationship as chronicled by the times they hate each other most."

It's a romantic comedy that shows the side of love that most of us pretend doesn't really exist. Those moments when your boyfriend chooses video games over you or when your girlfriend goes completely mental over something irrational.

Can't wait to see what they come up with next :)

Dr. Love

This is doctor love. She also happens to be one of my most wonderful friends in the whole wide world. Today we did a little photo shoot for the BYU newspaper. Isn't she a beauty?

If you happen to be reading the daily universe this Friday she will be giving you some sage advice on love. And oh so close to Valentine's day. That is what I'm talkin' about.

I think I have decided that my lover and I must celebrate the ultimate day of love- even if we are miles and miles apart. Suggestions for how to accomplish this? Believe me I am WIDEEE open to ideas.

I am a Mac.

Dear non Mac users-

I apologize that my blog doesn't look the best on your PC computers {I have a PC at work so I experience it too}. Apparently when manipulating the fonts I choose some exclusively mac-patable fonts. I tried to change the fonts to something that would suffice both a mac and a PC, but I just didn’t like the way it looked. So please accept this apology.

To celebrate or not to celebrate

Here is the Question... more like my internal dialogue.

Valentine's Day is coming up. Which means I have one of two options. The first being to celebrate the day by picking out special treats and goodies for my darling and acting all romantic {lovey-dovey stuff is not my forte}. The second is to let the day pass by as if it is just another during the week. It is a Monday you know.

The second option would be the easiest seeing as my  lover is 250 miles away. Also, I can't say that Valentine's day is my favorite. You should show your special someone how much you love them every single day of the year instead of just once a year on the 14th. Right?

And there is my dilemma.

To show my over commercialized affection or to not show my commercialized affection that is the question.

Oh Mondays.

I woke up this morning at 6. I then proceeded to press the snooze button exactly 4 times and woke up at 7. What is it about pushing the snooze early in the morning that makes me feel so empowered? So in control of my day in that moment, then 1 hour later when I am rushing out the door late to work {as usual} I am cursing myself for not responding to my 6 am wake up call.

My life is too rushed all the time! If I was just productive when I needed to be I would be a much happier person.

This evening I met up with a bunch of lovely ladies to open a time  capsule that we had created last year on February 7, 2010. It was hilariously entertaining reading my letter to myself. Direct quote:

"Well self... I can't wait to see where you end up in a year
On a mission?
Stronger in the gospel?
Hmmm...
I have the greatest family in the world and I am so blessed.
My life rocks and I need to stop forgetting that."

It is just crazy how much life can change in a year. The four of us started off out college experience together as Freshman and now 3 years later so much is different. Our friendship has grown and changed, but remains an ever present facet of each of our lives. Even though we are moving on to bigger and better things we still make time for that people that have helped make us who we are.

{Annual Cafe Rio catch up trip 9/11/2010}

Can I get any cheesier? Hmmm... I don't know about that. I have until Sunday to write my new letter to myself and my new letters to them. Yet another thing to add to the ever growing to do list. Well here is to a great start to a great week. I can feel it.

back to real life.

{Print from Q&A design. Lovely isn't it?}

A short plane ride and I am back in Utah. Personally I think it is a tiny bit unfair that I had to leave so fast. 2 DAYS! Really?! That's it! It is like a tease. Someone needs to jump on that whole making the weekend longer than two days thing. Sometimes I have to pretend that stuff isn't real because it doesn't feel that way. As David would say, "Is this real life?"

This evening I took the liberty of organizing my closet. Which means my outfits this week will be far more organized than my actual life is. Or at least I can hope.

Have a lovely Sunday.

krystle

Growing Pains.

My legs are aching right now. Not because I did some sort of some strenuous exercise, but because I spent the ENTIRE day traipsing from store to store (well 2 stores really) with my sister and mother.

8 hours later we emerged. Each with a few treasures. Why it took so long I will never know.
{Well I kind of know. My 13 year old sister was is search of the perfect dress... I am sad to say that we never found one, but she sure is a persistent little bugger}

I ended up with these bad boys.

And now if the spring weather would hurry and make an appearance I would be especially grateful. How can you go wrong with a nude wedge? {you can't, in my ever so humble opinion}

After we arrived home we propped up our aching feet and popped in Matilda. An instant family classic. Well at least we think so :) Huzzah for family time.

krystle

p.s. I promise to eventually start posting about something other than shoes.
p.s.s. Taza named her baby Eleanor! I kind of love it.

Once upon a time...

Sometimes my friend Kayla does extremely cute and crafty things...
This is the picture book she made me for my birthday.
Isn't it lovely?

Seattle.

Well more like Puyallup, but when I say that people don't know what I am talking about. I decided to flee the cold of Utah and fly home for the weekend to visit family in wonderful Washington. I live a charmed life. Believe me I know.

Recap of my day.

1. Pedicures with the Mother
2. Lunch at Qdoba [aka tasty Mexican food]
3. Bonding with the siblings
4. COSTCO

& then... drum role please.

5. Dinner at the INDOCHINE. Best Thai food in the Seattle Tacoma area by far. I am an expert when it comes to food so you are going to have to trust me.

Alas lovelies I must bid you farewell. Family time is a go!

Utah is freezing.

I go to BYU. Which is in Utah. Which is FREEZING.

So obviously if I am going to be stuck here for another year I need these. I honestly can't wait for the weather to get its act together and warm the heck up. Washington winters could have never prepared me for the frozen tundra of the Utah desert. I miss only having to wear a cardigan to stay warm. BUH. On another note... spring is just around the corner which means cute outfits will no longer be inhibited by attempts at staying warm! Goodbye thermals, snow boots, and leggings. Skirts, wedges, heels anyone? YES. How about these? I obviously NEED them.

Lusting I tell you. Lusting. If anyone feels the need to randomly give gifts...

Love,
Krystle
