I am happy to report that all went well when meeting the my best friends boy. He was quite charming and aided in the cooking of our delicious mini pizzas. You have to love college food.
Yesterday I spent the ENTIRE day on the computer and could not bring myself to stare at the screen for one more second in order to post. I was doing my Econ homework for the week that is due every Saturday at 11 pm. All I have to say to that is Really? The professor knows we are all going to procrastinate until last minute so why not just have them due throughout the week! Okay off my soap box.
My friend Blake wrote me this week. He is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter say Saints in the Marshall Islands. His reports indicate that he is doing very well. He is teaching a Chinese investigator... I'm not sure how that whole language barrier is working out.
And now to address the title of this post. Have you ever had Magleby's chocolate cake? If you have not... this needs to be rectified immediatelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It is the most delicious cake I have possibly ever had. I ate two pieces yesterday. Not really in line with my whole Mexico plan... but when the best cake on the planet is staring you in the face what are you going to do? Day 4- meaning today- will be better. We invited an apartment in our ward over for dinner so maybe we can make some new friends.
This is a picture of Jen and I with the band called The Rouge from the concert we went to last week!
Life lesson #6: If you show up to a party and it is at the same place you went to a crappy party once before, the chances are the this party is going to be crappy too.

cooking.
Cooking is something I enjoy... it is just the whole aspect of cleaning up afterwards that totally kills me. Tonight I am meeting my best friends new boyfriend for the first time. Oh yes. Over dinner. That we are all making together.
Venue: Liberty Square Apartments (aka my kitchen which I just cleaned. thank goodness)
Main Course: Mini pizzas... recipe stolen from my roommate.
Conversation: Hmmm. Taylor says he is hilarious so hopefully I think so or things could be well awkward.
Along the lines with this cooking post I also happened to stumble upon a cookbook that I bought today. Some of my roommates decided to cook together without asking me to join in. I always see them cooking their tasty meals and get jealous that I will be eating yet again another frozen meal. So today I decided that I wanted to cook amazing dinners as well. And no. I will not be sharing with them.
This is the book that I found on amazon.com for ten bucks. I am hoping that the recipes are delicious as well as healthy because I am trying to get ready for Mexico. (BTW day 83 is going nicely thus far. I have avoided temptation like the plague and already worked out :) When the book arrives... who knows! I may become a world famous chef. Only time will tell.
Life lesson #5: Don't ever give in to the temptation of hot tubbing after midnight in the dead of winter. No good will come of it.

mexico.
84 days.
That is how long I have until I leave on a vacation to Mexico and so I am feeling extremely motivated to get fit. The saga began last night when my roommate Rachel and I did Jillian Micheals work out DVD.
It was INTENSE.
There might have been some yelling at the TV... I'm just saying.
We are feeling motivated and pumped. Hopefully this will be a success at the end of 84 days. The scale used to determine this success? Whether or not I am feeling great in a swimsuit haha. Bring it.

Fair.
I grew up my whole life with my Dad always telling me that life was not fair and you know what... I finally believe.
Situations aren't fair.
Finances aren't fair.
And People especially are not fair.
There are somethings in life that you just have no control over. The most prime example in life in love. How two people actually find each other and make it work is a giant mystery to me. I mean I hope that one day I'll be able to have it but currently the prospects are looking mighty disconcerting. Life just gets in the way and people stop caring. I refuse to let my life get in the way of the most important thing.
Those are my thoughts.
Life Lesson #4: Never ever get sad. If you can help it.

Clothes.
Here is a fact. Men/boys when wearing nice clothes are instantly more attractive. Period.
Attending a college institution I have had many first hand experiences with this exact situation. Does this make me shallow? Maybe. Do clothes make me look twice at boys that I would have probably not noticed before. Yes. But I am okay with that. I try to look nice so should men/boys not attempt to do the same for me?
Food for thought. Boys don't make you v-neck too low. A little v-neck=good thing. I want to see a little chest hair, not your whole chest. We are not at the beach here. Skinny jeans are a good thing when they are not girl pants. Tapered, yes, skin tight, no. Vans are always a epic win. So boys just dress nicer because girls dig it. The end.
(the picture above is the band parachute that I saw last night. enough said.)
parachute.
OKAY!
This evening I had the glorious privilege of attending a concert at In The Venue up in SLC. Now... I am tired so this blog may not be entirely coherent but I will certainly try my best.
Madison Lights: This was the band that opened and there is nothing I want to say about them because none of it would be nice. The end.
Atalis: This was the second band and they were okayyyyyyyyy. The only girl that rocked the stage all night was the lead singer and from what I could hear she rocked the vocals. Kind of a harder version of a wannabe Paramore band which is probably not the best thing, but they they gave away free stickers and CD's so no one was complaining.
The Rouge: This band from Denver was seriously good. I was confused when they first came on stage because it looked like five indie boys with v-necks down to their belly buttons were trying to rock it out, but surprisingly I was impressed. I liked their sound. No indie acoustic stuff from these boys (Not that I am saying I don't like Indie acoustic stuff... it is actually one of my favorites). The lead vocals were impressive and so was the bass line. This bassist was killing it all night. You can look them up on myspace. I recommend the song six shooter. Actually I would highly suggest it. If you like the band Parachute it is a definite win.
Safetysuit: Heard of them before this evening but never seen them live and lets just say that the lead singer Doug knows how to put on a show. Honestly killed it. Music is great. Just a really fun band to sing with and see live. I'll have to check out more of his stuff. The guitarist in this band is sick along with the drummer. Had a difficult time hearing all the vocals cause something was up with the sound (so not their fault), but other than that it was sweet. www.safetysuit.com
and now for the band of the evening:
PARACHUTE!
Love love love them. And not just that song "She is Love" that blew up the radio scene. There are just honestly great. Fun music that makes you want to dance and for some reason fall in love, but don't they all haha. I will be posting lots of pictures very soon. Super nice guys that were willing to talk with you and just get to know you. Alex (the bassist) doesn't know it yet but I am almost positive that we are soul mates. I also ended up with a signed set list at the end of the night. How can you beat that? Hmmm... I don't think that you can. Nope. Pretty sure you can't :] Here is a song from them that was soooooooooooooooo amazing, mainly because I happen to sing it frequently when I am alone. Just freaking by there CD. Make it happen.
Anyway guys keep it real and keep reading.
Life lesson #3: Again with the Diet Coke at one in the morning. Oh and if you want to be first in line to a concert go at 3:30.

Idaho.
Idaho is that place that I was born a good twenty years ago and I must admit that it was a pleasure to return there this weekend. You can beat the small town feel because you literally are in the middle of no where wherever you choose to go! I loved it. I chased sheep. Pictures will come later. Royal Lloyd. Oh yeah.
So while I sit here waiting for my baked potato to cook I figured that I would just update my life a little.
I have a really great job. Today it was insane! The Tech guy at work broke my computer but then miraculously fixed it so that it was better than before! That was exciting. Plus I finally had the chance to work out. There is the slimmest chance that I will be able to go to Mexico with the Fam in April so I figure that I better be ready if the opportunity arises.
Tomorrow I get to see the band Parachute! So excited. I will Have pictures and info up tomorrow for sure. Anyway econ homework calls.
Life Lesson #2: Big men are not often scared of 5'1" girls.

Neon.
Tonight I went to the Velour with my amazing best friend Taylor. We saw four bands but lets just say only two are worth mentioning. One band is Location Location. AMAZING! I had never heard them before but I freaking love their stuff. It can totally be bought on iTunes. As soon as I wrap up this post I intend to download (legally :) a bunch. ALSO! Saw the band Neon Trees. What a freaking show. It was so much fun. They had just flown in from playing in New York so it was pretty legit I suppose. Oh did I mention that I have the bestest friend ever? Cause I do. Then end. Tomorrow I head to Idaho with my roomie Sash! So excited.
Life lesson #1: Never drink a large diet coke from McDonalds at 1 in the morning. Don't be tempted to get that big of a size even if it is only $1. You will be up all night.

ADVERTISING.
I am having a proud moment today!
I have finally finished my advertising application video so I thought that I would share it with everyone! Apparently I liked it so much that I am having the urge to use an excessive amount of exclamation points haha. I love it. Okay so here is the video. Let me know what you think. I want to be a photographer so I figure this is kind of a jumping off point. Anyway. Later!

Today.
Alright so I know that I have been super terrible about blogging, but I just have so much on my mind right now that there is nothing else I can do.
I have these friends. And they all say that they are there for me through whatever, but that just not the case.
It is funny how divisions are drawn. Like a line in the sand. Once you have picked a side you never come back. I guess the 4 of us were never supposed to make it. There was the underlying current the just came up over the shore and washed me so far away that I was never going to make it back even if I swam as fast as I could.
You live and you learn. Hopefully you get better.
The more you withdraw from people the more that they find fault with you. Its not the first time. Which is fine. And that is the way a lot of life is I guess. Just fine.
So go on your trip this weekend. Have a lot of fun. Ill just be here.
